So dig this, friday night I went and shot Joan Jett @ Seneca Niagara Casino. I've never been to this venue, I was told the stage for this particular show was outside.

I drove to the show with my bud Joey Koch, we had a lil time to kill before Joan's set so we got our gamble on...I think Joe won a hundo' or maybe he lost...I wasn't paying attention...anyway we make our way outside to the VIP area, but before I can get to the front of the stage we're accosted by this yard ape who Joe tells me is the house photographer (I could care less) he informs us that we can only shoot the first three songs to which I reply "I got approved to shoot the whole set". The yard ape starts sweating and drooling throwing his hands in the air, frothing from his pie hole and screaming at the top his lungs "Who are you with!!??!!" "Who are you with!!??!!" he repeats this ad nauseum...Any minute I'm expecting animal control to show up and and tranquilize this baboon..."Who am I with?!?" "Who thee fuck are you!?!" "What an asshole!"

I pulled the paperwork out of my bag so I could rub it in his face.

Joe shows him, and I have to give Joey props for maintaining his cool, cause this clown is screaming at him and being quite rude...

I'd had enough at this point, I grabbed the paperwork put it in my bag and was getting ready to tell this guy to fuck off when he ran away on his cell phone calling upstairs to see if he could get some answers.

Hey douchebag!! *newsflash* They're the ones who told me I could shoot the whole set!

Joan was in-freeging-credible!! How old is she late 40's? She's still wicked hot, I've had a crush on her since I was a kid...

Shot the mighty Sevendust.

I got 10 minutes with the band (not a lot of fucking time!) *fast forward* outside the bands dressing room 15 minutes before they take the stage I'm chill'n...waiting....looking @ my watch....waiting...waiting...finally Lajon steps out of the dressing room doing vocal exercises, warming up the pipes. The rest of the band showed up a few minutes later.

Lajon and I say Hi rap a lil' bit, then I say what up to Morgan...Everyone gets together, Lajon invites me into the bands prayer circle (ritual before taking stage) he spoke about our troops in Iraq (7dust just got back from Afghanistan/Iraq where they entertained the troops for two weeks) he also touched base on the importance of family. Actually, it was a very profound moving moment. I was stoked to be part of it...we knocked out a few frames then the band was off to destroy!

New pics in Music III (I've also got a few rolls of b&w film that I shot, they're @ the lab getting developed "That's right I still use film!")

Kudos to the bands tour manager Chris Vineyard, thanks for all the last minute hustle bro you're the shit!

I shot Idiot Pilot on Monday. I wanted to get them in the studio but they were still on the road @ 4:30 in the afternoon, no time. We ended up shooting a few rolls outside in 10 degree weather, they were hella cool about it...

Also planned a shoot with Bullet for My Valentine....that didn't happen...LAME!!...I had some really cool lighting and prop concepts I was going to try, a buddy of mine who owns a shooting range/gun shop booked time off for me the day of the show so when it didn't go down I was vexxed. Long story short B4MV's people (ie: Matt w/Hungry like a Woolf) need to pull there heads out of there ass...

Added a few photos to Port IV

Big hugs and smoochs to everyone for ALL of the B-Day wishes, you rawk!

I turned 36 on 11/08...I'm frick'n old...

So dig this, I was going to drive to Buffalo and shoot the Cult tonight, however opted to pass...let me break it down for ya'...

Generally whatever magazine or paper I'm shooting for will work out all of the details before I arrive @ the venue ie: photo pass, am I shooting with the band before they play or do I need to book some studio time? what are some of the concepts for the shoot etc etc...

So I speak with Cara the bands PR person and she says everything is a go...now even though this was discussed it's always a good idea to triple check details, you don't want to get to a location and no one has a clue who you are...she leaves me Mitch's number and I give him a quick shout just to get the bands set time so I can plan my evening, in my experience some TM's are cool and some are not...fast forward to the afternoon, I get a call from Cara asking me if I called Mitch "The Bitch" (the Cults tour manager) to which I replied yes...

I left him a vm asking for the bands set time, is that a problem?

Cara then says "YOU SHOULD NEVER CALL MITCH because he's very busy and now he's blowing a gasket because you called him...

Jeezus H Christ I just need the bands set time. I'm driving an hour to the gig and want to plan on what time I'm leaving etc etc...

Cara says "Well I just got a very nasty e-mail from him, please don't call him all correspodence should go through me from now on"

No worries, don't get your panties in a bunch hon, so do you know what time the band is going on then!?!

No I don't...

Wow! WTF!

So he's really that busy huh?

Let me see if I understand this...in the time it took him to type up his crybaby bullshit e-mail to you he couldn't have just rung me up and said

"Hey Scott the bands set time is @ 9:30"

Mitch sounds like a douchebag and I'm totally turned off now and don't even want to shoot the band...

Anyways...Tomorrow I'm doing a shoot with the Briggs and on Saturday I'll be shooting Branford Marsalis...

peace
